Leadership

The essence of Leading a Life Well Lived is leadership. A leader has a clear understanding of the mission—the purpose—and the vision of what life looks like when that mission is being accomplished. The idea is that an ideal life is marked by abundance in each of the five areas: Spiritual, Personal, Family, Financial, and Community/Occupation.

Each person on this earth was born with a purpose. There is an old saying: “The best day of your life is the day you were born. The next best day is the day you discover why.”

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “Great minds talk about ideas. Average minds talk about events. Small minds talk about people.” With that in mind, let’s focus on the higher calling—Leading a Life Well Lived.

At the core of personal leadership is the recognition that context and paradigm shape how we see and engage with the world. An effective leader understands that their truths, beliefs, attitudes, and opinions form the mental framework—or mindset—they carry. Importantly, wise leaders know this mindset is not fixed; it evolves as they encounter new challenges, gain new insights, and grow through new experiences.

When it comes to leading our own lives, we hold both the privilege and responsibility of defining what abundance looks like in each of the five key areas. Effective leadership means having the clarity of vision to intentionally shape what we desire in these circles. Having a powerful vision of the life we want to create we can then set goals to move in that direction. You do not drift to a desired destination.

Leadership also requires the courage to initiate paradigm shifts—to step back, challenge long-held assumptions, and rethink what we once considered permanent or self-evident. It calls us to expand our context, to imagine new possibilities, and to take deliberate action to bring our vision of abundance to life.

Ultimately, this is not just about personal growth. It is about leading with purpose, living with clarity, and creating abundance in each of the five areas of life. That is what it means to lead a life well lived.
